Our Story
A personal loss.
A public purpose.
Syeda Foundation did not begin in a boardroom or a strategy session. It began with grief — and with a question: how do you honour someone whose greatest gift to you was belief?
"She pushed me to reach higher. The foundation is my way of pushing others."
The answer was to take everything she stood for — the conviction that education changes lives, that every child deserves opportunity, that effort and access together unlock potential — and build an institution that lives those values out loud.
Syeda Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit, pan-India in its reach, working at the intersection of education, digital connectivity, skill development, and rural empowerment. We are young as an organisation, but the conviction behind us is decades old.
The Founder
Growing up between conversations with his grandmother and the lanes of Srinagar, the founder inherited one unshakeable belief: that with access and effort, anyone can rise. Syeda Foundation is his commitment to making that access real — for millions of children, youth, and communities across India who deserve the same chance.
Why this, why now
India has 250 million school-age children. Millions study without reliable electricity, internet, or trained teachers. We believe technology and education together are the fastest path to equity — and we intend to build that path, school by school, village by village.
