change everything.

In memory of Syeda Begum — a woman of warmth, strength, and unshakeable optimism.

Syeda Foundation carries forward a grandmother's deepest conviction: that no child should be denied the chance to learn, grow, and flourish. We work across education, digital inclusion, skill development, and rural empowerment — building the India she believed was possible.

"Always try. Always reach higher. Education will open every door."

There are people who shape you quietly — not through grand gestures, but through the warmth of their presence, the steadiness of their belief, and the way they make you feel seen. Syeda Begum was that person. She was a grandmother in the truest sense — the kind whose home you didn't just visit, but belonged to.

For her grandson, she was the first and most constant source of moral support. There wasn't a day without a conversation, a check-in, a word of encouragement. Her home in Srinagar was where he spent the majority of his childhood and youth — not just because family was there, but because she made it a place worth returning to.

She believed, deeply and without hesitation, that education could change the world. She pushed the people she loved to aim higher, try harder, and never settle. In her mid-sixties, she left behind a family changed by her presence — and a conviction that became the foundation of this work.

A Lifetime in Srinagar
Roots in Kashmir

Syeda Begum spent her entire life in Srinagar — through its seasons, its beauty, and its hardships. Her home became a sanctuary for family and a symbol of warmth in the valley.

The Formative Years
A grandmother's influence

Her grandson spent the majority of his childhood and youth in her home — days filled with conversation, guidance, and the steady presence of someone who believed in him completely.

She left, but her words stayed

Syeda Begum passed away in Srinagar. Her belief that education opens every door — that every person deserves a chance to rise — became the founding idea of this foundation.

Syeda Foundation is born

Named in her honour, the foundation begins its work — carrying forward her conviction into schools, villages, and communities across India.

A personal loss.
A public purpose.

Syeda Foundation did not begin in a boardroom or a strategy session. It began with grief — and with a question: how do you honour someone whose greatest gift to you was belief?

"She pushed me to reach higher. The foundation is my way of pushing others."

The answer was to take everything she stood for — the conviction that education changes lives, that every child deserves opportunity, that effort and access together unlock potential — and build an institution that lives those values out loud.

Syeda Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit, pan-India in its reach, working at the intersection of education, digital connectivity, skill development, and rural empowerment. We are young as an organisation, but the conviction behind us is decades old.

The Founder

Grandson of Syeda Begum · Founder, Syeda Foundation

Growing up between conversations with his grandmother and the lanes of Srinagar, the founder inherited one unshakeable belief: that with access and effort, anyone can rise. Syeda Foundation is his commitment to making that access real — for millions of children, youth, and communities across India who deserve the same chance.

Why this, why now

India has 250 million school-age children. Millions study without reliable electricity, internet, or trained teachers. We believe technology and education together are the fastest path to equity — and we intend to build that path, school by school, village by village.

Six pillars.
One mission.

Each program addresses a distinct gap. Together, they create a compound effect — lifting entire communities, not just individual metrics.

Stories from the ground.

Every number in our impact report is a person. These are the stories behind the work — and the reason we do it.

Illustrative "

Before the Connected Schools program reached us, my students shared one textbook between four. Now they have the internet, and last month one of them won a national coding competition. I didn't think that was possible here.

Illustrative "

I was the first in my village to learn software development. The Future Skills Academy gave me skills, but more than that — it gave me the belief that I belonged in this industry. I have a job now. My family has hope.

Illustrative "

Our village had never had reliable internet. When the Digital Village Mission came, it changed everything — how we access government services, how our children learn, how we run our small businesses. We feel connected to India now.

These are illustrative stories representing the communities we aim to serve. Real testimonials will be added as programs launch.
